Hawiian Honeymoon 1972

HAWAIIAN HONEYMOON 1972 was a Custom Commission for the parents of a friend of mine in colored pencil on 12″ by 16″ primed Arches 140 LB Water Color Paper. The reference material I was given was an old faded photograph from their honeymoon. I researched the convertibles from that era and chose to bathe the whole scene in a warm orange-yellow tropical light. The honeymooners are turning toward each other looking straight back at us from over their shoulders and under the brims of their period-appropriate sunhats with the carefree expectation of newlyweds in a vacation paradise.
