PORTRAIT OF A TEENAGE GIRL is a study in graphite after the drawing by Andrea Del Sarto, a Master Rennaissance Artist. Some scholars think that Del Sarto, who lived from 1486 to 1530, rivaled Leonardo da Vinci as one of history’s most skilled draftsmen. By contrast, I could only find in a couple of his paintings the genius I see everywhere in his drawings. I’m grateful that I found him and for what I learn by studying many of his drawings.
