SAINT PETER is a study in graphite and yellow chalk of one of Raphael’s drawings from 1519 called “Head of a Young Apostle.” I love the skill and accuracy he demonstrated in capturing the crown of the head and this sort of three-quarter downward left looking glance of the man’s nearly closed eyes. The profile is full of expression.
